Acupuncture in its various forms (dry-needling, TCM, Five Element) is an effective means to treat many types of pains, illnesses and injuries. A patient can visit an acupuncturist for all the same reasons you might go to a doctor, as well as for general well-being and health maintenance.
Acupuncture has been used successfully for thousands of years and is today classed as a very effective form of complementary treatment.
What is five element acupuncture? - Five Element Acupuncture is an older form that focuses completely on each patient individually, looking at the creative and controlling balance of the Five Elements (Earth, Wood, Metal, Fire and Water), when these are out of balance this results in physical and emotional issues, the re-balancing of these by a Five Element Practitioner addresses the symptoms at the root, resulting in improved patient well-being for a range of conditions.
During your treatment, your Green Rose Acupuncture practitioner will use a range of diagnostic methods (including taking a full medical history and reading your pulses) to design your individual treatment plan.
We are very sensitive to patient concerns with Acupuncture, for those who have never had Acupuncture before, it can appear initially daunting, please rest assured that Acupuncture feels nothing like having an injection, Five Element Acupuncture does not generally leave needles in the body for too long, the objective is to connect with the Qi with as few needles as possible as quickly as possible, but early clearing treatments and some other exceptions exist. At Green Rose Acupuncture we go out of our way to make you feel settled and comfortable, everybody reacts and feels the initial effects differently, however it is not uncommon to initially feel a sting or dull aching sensation, however it is common to become accustomed and even relaxed beyond this initial effect.
We only use the highest quality, Japanese made, single-use, disposable and sterile specialist acupuncture needles, these are smaller than a human hair, made of high quality stainless steel with extreme flexibility.
The introductory session includes some Acupuncture treatment to start addressing the symptoms and problems from the very start, we will also fully evaluate and listen to your situation, providing a custom plan that is aimed at re-balancing the patients Five Elements and optimising well-being. As a general guide, we would recommend follow-up sessions of approximately one hour every week for a total of 4 to 6 sessions, further sessions can be timed in accordance with the client needs. Many patients will benefit from ongoing treatments, helping them reach their goals while focusing on continuous well-being and relaxation.
All patients are scheduled well in advance and must certify that they are in good health with no fever symptoms prior to any treatment, if any patient feels unwell on the day of the treatment, we would insist that they postpone and reschedule. To ensure optimal protection, the practitioner will wear a mask throughout the process and we would insist our patients do the same. Our treatment room is thoroughly disinfected between each treatment and at the end of the working day, the room will also be fully ventilated and we ask patients to bring their own coverings (blanket or towel). We take every reasonable measure to ensure that both the practitioner and patient is as safe as possible.
